Something About Me
- The Musician
I began my musical career on the clarinet in my early teens, playing in the school band and all Philadelphia high school orchestra. My true love was playing jazz.
I met Bob Pollitt, a great tenor saxophone player and teacher in the Philadelphia area. I extended my playing to the tenor and soprano saxophones. Moreover, I enhanced my knowledge of music theory which led to my ability to improvise. The players who have had a particular influence on my playing are Lester Young, Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz and Larry McKenna.
